About The Thing of the Moment Gallery and Links

The Thing of the Moment Gallery is an adjunct photoblog to The Thing of the Moment: A Monumental and Majestic Work Of Epic Proportions by your lowly and humble photographic servant. It contains both previously published and new photos from the photographers who bring you The Thing of the Moment.

Even some of my closest friends who are regular Gentle Viewers of The Thing of the Moment would say to me, 'SOMETIMES you can take a nice photo, so maybe you ought to put it someplace we can FIND it.' I had thought that was what I was doing with The Thing of the Moment which I love like my own child, apparently too much. It's hard to have your photos taken seriously in the photoblog community unless you have that snooty one photo per page thing going on, according to some very good (AND COMPLETE PHOTOBLOG SNOB) friends.

The title for The Thing of the Moment comes from a friend who has never seen it, could care less, and only vaguely knows of its existance. When I first started taking photos a couple of years ago and talking about it incessantly she said 'Oh, is this the thing of the moment?' putting it, in her mind, firmly in a long list of obsessive interests which come and go like the wind. So The Thing of the Moment refers to the act of taking photos and photoblogging, NEVER to the subject.

Human subjects ('Gentle Subjects' as opposed to 'Gentle Viewers') who appear in The Thing of the Moment and The Thing of the Moment Gallery may or may not have granted permission to be photographed and/or published. They are, in my opinion, the greatest Gentle Subjects in the world and I thank them profusely.
